The day started out overcast which gave us some cooler August temperatures. Lots of visitors and customers ready to buy visited the many booths set up on the front lawn of the church.
The sun popped out in the afternoon warming the air and yes, building the needed humidity for some afternoon storms. Being a former boy scout, I was getting prepared, staked down enclosure, put the sides on, and got prepared to ride the storm out.
Then around 3pm it hit with a vengeance. Did not look like the enclosure was going to handle the wind when all of a sudden I looked up and there were several youth and adults helping to hold the enclosure down.
It felt like we were on a sail boat in the middle of the ocean being hammered with one wind gust after another.
When the storm died down the effort of many was a success. Canopy was intacted and the furniture was dry. No, but that was not the end, the group stayed and helped me load our furniture into the trailer.
My hats off to the youth and adults that helped Donna and I on Saturday afternoon, you are good people.
